Fast Learning
Fast Learning
If you are reading this, you were probably warned by Just Italian to not go too fast through the cards.
What's wrong with going fast through the cards?
Going through the cards in a fast way is not wrong per se. The question is, are you still learning anything?
Just Italian is based on the idea that you try to translate a word or phrase before you turn the card.
- If you are able to translate it, then all is well. Grade the card with a green button (easy or too easy), and all is well.
- If you have difficulty translating it (you don't know the translation, or it is difficult or takes a lot of time), then you turn the card to see the translations, and then try to memorize them.
If you are using the app this way, then all is well. You just seem to be a fast learner 😃 We just want to make sure that people understand how to use the app.
Are there any situations when it is necessary to go through cards in a fast way?
Not really. People are going through the cards in a fast way for a variety of reasons:
- Because the cards are too easy / hard for them - in this case, it is better to change the level.
- Because they are looking for a card. They go through the cards until a certain card appears. In this case, it is better to search for the card, or to go through the upcoming cards in the cards lists.
- Because the proper way of using the app is not clear to them (see above).
