The Home Screen

After having completed the tutorial, or when logged in, you will be presented with the Home Screen after having started Just Italian.

This is the main screen, from which you can start a learning session. When you are done learning, you can end the session, and you will be taken back to the Home Screen.

  1. Account Button: Here you can login (if you are not already logged in) and log out.
  2. Sync status: This cloud shows you the "sync status" of the app. If the app is loading something, or writing something to the server, it will show a revolving circle, otherwise a green checkbox. This is only relevant if you use Just Italian on more than one device (before using it on another device, make sure to check that you see the green checkmark, this indicates that everything has been uploaded), or if you plan to use the device offline (e.g. in a plane). Press the cloud icon to see more details.
  3. Today's Overview: This area shows an overview of your learning today.
  4. Today's Learning Time: This progress bar shows the amount of time learned so far, and how much is missing until you have reached your goal for today.
  5. Your Numbers at a Glance: Here you can see your current learning statistics: the number of reviews learned today, the number of [new cards](../../cards/
  6. Daily Learning Goal: Here you can view and change your daily learning goal. Tap the pencil to change the goal.

  1. Course List: This shows the courses (card collections) you are subscribed to. You can change these in the settings.
  2. Course Info: Tap this gear icon to view a list of the cards in the course, or to start a learning session with just this course.
  3. Medals: This are shows the medals you have earned. Medals are milestones in your progress through a course.

  1. Recent Activity: Here you can see your activity during the last days. Reviews are shown in blue, while new cards are green. Days with a 🔥 symbol are the days you have reached your daily goal (streak days). With the arrow button, you can also see more details about you activity history.
  2. Learning Button: Tap this button to start your daily learning session.
  3. Search / Word Lookup: Tap this magnifier symbol to look up a word. See Word Lookup Screen for details.
  4. Own Cards: Tap this pencil symbol to create, view and edit your own cards.

Tutorial Tasks​

After you have completed the tutorial that lets you make the first steps through the app, Just Italian presents a few tasks to you. Each of these tasks guides you through a specific function of the app.

The tutorial is an excellent way to get started with the app, and to learn how to use it. We strongly recommend you to complete the tutorial, as it will help you to understand how the app works.
